soul out

My soul wasn't with me while I attend the line dance class today. Just don't know why I can't concentrate during the class. I didn't paid enough attention while dance with music so most of the time I can't follow the steps. I keep telling myself to paid attention but my brain seems blank and out of control. But luckily I still can focus when the teacher taught us the new steps.

In The Mood Of Love

While I heard the song "Quizás, Quizás, Quizás" from the movie I watched lately. I sudden have the feeling to look for the soundtracks of "In The Mood Of Love" ("花樣年華") because this movie also featured this song. Honestly I love this movie very much while a lot of people said the movie is hard to understand. For me, I like the way their present the unspeakable love between two married couple and it's not that hard to understand the message channel from this movie. When I listen through the soundtracks, the movie's scene keeps flashing back into my mind especially the sence where Maggie Cheung is carrying her lunch box and walking down the alley to buy “wantan” noodle! OK, I have a confession to make that I had an obsession on Maggie Cheung.
My favourite music from this album are "Quizás, Quizás, Quizás" and "Yumeji’s Theme". "Quizás, Quizás, Quizás" is a lovely jazz by Nat King Cole where "Yumeji’s Theme" is a waltz masterpiece by Shigeru Umebayashi. There are not pop songs and I won't get bore by keep listening to it. So my CD player will continuously play this album ;-)

It's amazing

The latest season of "The Amazing Race: Family Edition" is really cool. At least the producer team has try something new to keep their AR fans hanging in front of tv on each Tuesday (or Wednesday or whichever day you watch it). This time, the racers are form by 10 families of 4 like parents & kids, father & son-in-law, siblings, widow & kids, etc. It's kind of funny watching those western families race against each other because the way their interact and communicate between family members are so different from Aisa family (I can't said their are malfunction families ;-p). The reasons are they all came from different background, different culture even differences in religions. So this season is worth to watch...hahaha, looks like I'm keep finding excuse to be couch potatoes. Besides, the racers are travel within U.S., which never happened in previous season. Therefore, another excuse!!

answer for life

There is no fix answer for life. Because our life it's not like exam which have a certain correct answer. Each decision you make in life can be the correct answer, like what job you take, where to dine tonight or which friends you want to hang out with. It's all depending on how serious and passion you are when you make the decision. Some decision may force you step out from the comfort zone, it's a risky answer but it won't kill you! So, let's answer it with your heart...

New Season

It's been almost a week that I didn't post any new entries to this blog. Because I keep myself occupied by watching english and japanese drama for the past few days. The new season has begun for the English drama series like Lost, CSI, Desperate Housewives etc. So I'm sure I will to spend part of my time to catch up all these series for the coming six months ;-p
Besides, I also take some time to redesign the layout of my blog. It's just make a minor changed where the background color still the same...black! But at least there is something new and fresh of me.

Tuesday, September 20

highlight of the day

  1. Stop a taxi for a foreign client from other company.
  2. Had curry noodle for lunch.
  3. Search for an unusable CD from rubbish bin which full with disgusting garbage.
  4. Open the front door for another foreign client.

I've been told I will receive a confirmation letter on next month with a slightly increment on salary. At that moment, my body is shaking and my palms is sweating. Because I was terrified!

Mooncake Festival

From the movie ("Charlie & The Chocolate Factory") to the Broadway show ("STOMP"). Then its Mooncake celebration, I have dinner with my family and relatives in my house after I am back. Later I'm playing lantern with my cousins. I had a fabulous Sunday which make me exhausted in the end of the day.

Full moon in Mooncake festival, but the moon is too shy to show her face. She keep hiding herself behind the cloud.

Lantern, a must have "toy" in Mooncake festival. Its hanging in front of my house.

Jelly mooncake, made by my aunt. Taste great!!

My little cousin. Becareful, don't burn your hand!

Candles in the wall.

The lantern is burning!

STOMP

Right after the movie end at 2.30pm, I rush to Istana Budaya for STOMP. Luckily, I had spent 15 minute on the road because there is no traffic on Sunday. I did not buy the ticket in advance and I just want to try my luck. At the end, I'm able to get the ticket and I'm not late for the show! Hooray!! The show starts at 3.05pm...

This is an amazing show where they used different types of tools to make noise (or music) like broom, lighter, newspaper, even their on sweat and more!! I had goosebump on the entire show, not because of the cold temperature on the hall but the show really make you hold your breath. There are total eight performers on the stage and they had channel all their energy to entertain the audience. One of the proof is they broke few brooms during the show!! Besides the fascinated music, performers' choreography is another attractive point in STOMP. Something extra is their spontaneous interaction with the audience, especially making fun on the people who come in late. It is a nearly two hour performance where the show end at 4.50pm. So if you are going to watch STOMP, remember to relax and have fun because you will be a performer too!

Charlie & The Choc...

Finally I had watched "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory"! I reach the cinema (MBO, Galaxy Ampang) at 12.45pm where the movie already starts a while ago. There are only 8 people (6 adult & 2 children) in the cinema, so it doesn't matter where I choose to sit. For me, its a great movie and worth to watch!!!!! The storyline is very simple and straight forward, its colorful, imaginary, humorous, touching...and love!

oldie - Walk On By

"Walk On By" it's a song before my age and I heard this song from the BBC documentary series regarding western music history. This song sang by a soft female vocal. She is Dionne Warwick, a lady with bunch of hits like "I Say A Little Prayer", "That's What Friends Are For", "Anyone Who Had Heart" etc in 60s. You may wonder what so interesting about this song?! Well, I love the rhythm of this song...simple yet attractive.

Walk On By

If you see me walking down the street
And I start to cry each time we meet
Walk on by, walk on by

Make believe
that you don't see the tears
Just let me grieve
in private 'cause each time I see you
I break down and cry
And walk on by (don't stop)
And walk on by (don't stop)
And walk on by

I just can't get over losing you
And so if I seem broken and blue
Walk on by, walk on by

Foolish pride
Is all that I have left
So let me hide
The tears and the sadness you gave me
When you said goodbye
Walk on by
and walk on by
and walk by (don't stop)

Walk on by, walk on by
Foolish pride
Is all that I have left
So let me hide
The tears and the sadness you gave me
When you said goodbye
Walk on by (don't stop)
and walk on by (don't stop)
and walk by (don't stop)

"comb your hair!"

I went back to office with a “messy-look” hair style. But I think my Chinese boss probably can’t accept it because he said “comb your hair!” when I met him. I answer “OK”. Then the secretary said she will set a “hair code” for company employees in future. I hope she is kidding.
I believe I no longer can have a fashionable hair style in office...

lost

I'm alone and I'm driving. I have a thought to get lost in the middle of the city. So I choose the route I never use before. I’m heading to correct direction but not to my destination. I drive in the same lane most of the time and did not give a second thought on each junction I come across. Eventually I have reach the place which I familiar. I was disappointed

I had arrived but my soul no longer with me. It's been to the place I can not reach with my hand. I’m lost mentally...

sitting, waiting, writing

It's 5.30pm, but I can't leave the office yet because my bosses had order me to wait for them. Both of them had went out for meeting and not sure what time they will be back. So I just sit at my chair and wait endlessly...

My car is not a rubbish bin!

To the person who likes to leave he’s rubbish (plastic beg & used phone card) inside my car. Please stops do so!!! At the moment I find out this scenario, I was so angry because you are not a kid but a fully grow adult with mature mind. Besides, I don’t care where you come from, what background you had or how much experience you gain. Please learn to respect other people and don’t repeat this habit anymore! If not, I’m afraid you are not welcome to ride my car anymore!

taste @ German

Tonight, I finally have the chance to taste German food which is something I expected for so long. EURO Deli Grill, located at Jalan Yap Kuan Seng is a place offer German food, pasta, Swiss coffee etc where most of the cuisine are tag with affordable price.
I had a roast pork's knuckle and ribs as my dinner. While the food was being serve, I ate quietly. It was neither a sentimental moment nor I'm a moody guy. I just want to "concentrate" on chewing every bite of food goes into my mouth. Hopefully I didn't scare my friends with a sudden reaction. Just wanna let you guys know I'm fine and it's good to be a listener sometimes.

alcohol & sweet dessert

It's a very beautiful Saturday night, I went to La Bodega with my friends which located at Tengkat Tong Shin. We look through the menu quite a while and try to seek for suitable drinks and food. When the waiter noticed five helpless human which scratch their head so hard, he decided to give us some direction. This waiter suggested the La Bodega home made sangria and we all agree with his idea. The sangria taste OK ...After that, we went to the dessert shop next to La Bodega. Over there, we eat and chit chat again. Hahaha, sound so boring. It seems we had nothing else to do besides eats, drinks and chat. What a dull life!

Dear God, I beg you to...

I found this article during a visit to my client office. I felt "refresh" after read through whole article, so I "silently" copy down into my organiser.

Dear God, I beg you to...
give me the wisdom
to understand my boss

give me the love
to forgive him

give me the patience
to understand his action

But dear God, don't present me strength
Because if you give me strength...
I will break his skull!!

working late...

It's 5.30pm, I should leave office by now. But the office is facing internet crash down at this moment and CPU keeps auto restart. So my boss had "asked" me to take this CPU to Sunway Pyramid for check up. I went there with another co-worker, but the traffic is so heavy at this peak hour which make me stuck in bumper to bumper jam nearly one hour, *sigh*. The computer shop's technician verified the cause of the problem is from the bad sector in hardisk. So we buy the new hardisk and straight away head back to office (without having dinner). We immediately start the OS installation while we back to offide at 9.00am. Only three people left in the company (me, co-worker & boss)...scary!! While we doing our works, the boss went outside and "ta pau" some food for us. So I had my dinner after 10.00pm but I can't eat much because I am no longer hungry after starving for nearly four hour (0_o'').
It's already 12.00am, we still haven't get the job done yet because both of us aren't hardware expert where this job required a lot of hardware configuration. The boss also didn't give the order where we can leave...I'm so so so tired at this moment. Keep working...Finally, the boss allow us to go home at 1.30am although not much progress in the network setup. Zoommmmm......I rush into my car, start the engine and "fly" back to home. Hopefully I didn't get any traffic summon for over speed limit =)
I step into my house at 2.00am and take my bath, then wait until my hair all dry out. I went to bed at 3.00am because I need to get up at 7.00am...

Gigantic cert!

phew...finally I'm able to steal some time for returning my convocation attire today. Since I finish my job early, I reach the UTAR Alumni office before at 4.30pm (they close at 5pm). Unfortunately graduate who return the attire after 1st September will receive a delay penalty of RM10.00 per day. So I think RM50.00 will be deducted from my RM200.00 deposit...there goes the money :'(

In the meantime, I also collect my convocation pictures which make me wanna cry while I look at it. This is because I didn't look at the camera while the photographer took the pictures...damn it!! But who should blame? Or I should turn my head toward the camera a bit faster?! I had ruined the chance with Malaysia Prime Minister.

Later, I went to examination department to collect my certificate. What a surprise to see such a gigantic cert (28cm x 37cm). Don't tell me they aspect us to frame it and hang on the wall (if we do so, we still didn't need this kind of size) or UTAR want to fit themselves into Malaysia book of Record for the largest Degree Certificate in our country...*wink* But the university is so thoughtful where three types of language (English, mandarin & malays) had printed on this gigantic cert. I should appreciate they effort ^-^

KL Photography Festival 2005

On Sunday, I had went to the KL Photography Festival 2005 at Chong Hua hall (中华大会堂)by myself (next time I should look for a friend who have same interest) where it's just a two days event and today is the last day. I was surprised to see so many "photographer" in this exhibition =) who hanging around in this hall. Different types of booths have been setup for selling digital camera, camera accessories, camera lenses cleansing, backpack photography trip etc. Besides, free entrance and paid seminar, slide show are also undergoing on the both sides of the hall. Last but not least is the photograph exhibition from different photographer and the theme it's "The Changing Malaysia" ("变迁中的马来西亚"). Those photos are really amazing which is hard to describe by words and allow me to see my country in another angle!
Before I left, I bought a magazine from Photo Creator Publication who also the organizer. Cool magazine!

jelly night

Tonight have something to do with jelly. First I went for dinner with my family and my uncle's family. The restaurant call "Sek Ka" where it's near the Ampang old folk's house (also near the 九王爷 temple). We order 7 dishes (like 奶油虾,京都排骨,古式蒸鱼,药材马来鸡 etc) and got one free soup and a plate of fruits. The food is very good and it only cost us RM199 (included the beers for my father and uncle) for eleven people (10 adults and a kid). Not a very costly dinner, but we only have one complained! This restaurant also provide the karaoke for customer and they had tune up the volume so loud until we need to shout if chat with the person sit next to us =p Besides, those so called "karaoke's singers" really torture our mental during the dinner! Out of tune singing style seems to be everyone favourite =)
We quickly "ran" out from this restaurant after we done our dinner. *If you wanna have a decent and quite meal in this clean environment, be there before 7pm or weekday should the wise choice.
After the dinner, we went to my uncle's house and my sister had brought the custom make jelly cake. The jelly look very cute which a boy wearing a gown with scroll on hand. But the words on the scroll are a mistake made by the chef. "Happy Birthday" is not the words my sister looking for while order this jelly cake. But its ok, the "cake" tastes good. Thanks sis!

why we LUV Malaysia

While I read the August issue of FACES, an interesting topic had caught my eyes. The author had listed 48 reasons why we love Malaysia to symbolize the 48 years of our country's independence. So I had copy out few of it (which are laughable) to share with my friends. But don't get me wrong, I love my country, which is truth!

#01 - Burn your plastic and shop till you drop at "The Great Malaysia Sale" which is on like almost all year round.

#07 - Perodua and Proton cars although not that durable gets us to where we want to go... on most occasions anyways *grin*.

#10 - Night Life in Malaysia is extraodinary - almost everything you can do during the day time, you can do it at night too! Malaysia Boleh!!!

#12 - Its wonderful that we have so many public holidays. FYI: Selangor has the most holidays in the whole country!

#17 - Traffic jams at all hours of the day give us a good excuse when we are late for appointment. *grin*

#19 - No natural disasters... (yet!)

#24 - When you drive in Malaysia you don't have to put signals when you turn, though you might just get a nasty finger or a loud *beep beep*

#27 - We seem to have mastered Manglish and the "lah". Maybe it should be a compulsory subject in school nowlah.

#31 - The extremely "wonderful" and "caring" cencorship board which has so kingdly taken out the unpleasant bits for us. (Awww...How sweet of them!)

#44 - Don't you just love the kiasu-ism and competitive spirit in Malaysia? We currently hold many records for the "biggest", "tallest" and "longest" of almost anything you can think off.

#45 - If you are hungry and there is no cutlery, eating with your hands is acceptable here. *Hoorah*

#48 - You don't get funny stares when you step out of your house in your PJ's to pop by the nearest mamak or shopping centre.
