Happy Merdeka!

I did not plan to go out at Merdeka eve. I just thought I will spent the night by just staying home and do some non sense activities like watching tv. But unfortunately my friend gave me ring after 8pm. From that moment, I knew I will screw the couch potato's plan when I picked up the call. So I went to Starbucks at Great Eastern Mall with few of my buddies. While we reached Starbucks, it's already fifteenth past eleven and the cafe shop is going to close their business. No luck!
Then each of us starts squeezing our brain for next stop. Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock...time is running out. Don't know who mention about the Naili's place near Ampang Points, so we head to this place without giving second thought! I had orderes their restaurant's favourite, which is "Ubi rebus". But it's very disappointed...
Six of us had spent two hours there and leave around 1.30am. It's Wednesday morning and it's Merdeka Day, we turn to 48th years old today.

the end is the begining of the end

I step my foot inside the hall at 2pm. The ceremony starts at 3pm. I received the scroll from Prime Minister at 4.15pm. The convocation end at 5pm. Nothing interesting during the ceremony, just something usual like Prime Minister giving his speech, then giving scroll to all the graduates. Parents and friends of all the graduate had fill up the building. But luckily I found my parent within a second...thanks to my sister's tall boyfriend =) which is so easy to spot in the "mountain people mountain sea" area. After taken a few shot with my family, I met my friends. They bought me flowers, chocolate etc. Thanks for coming, buddies.

Today is a memorable day to me. It's a benchmark to my life as well. I had officially ended my bachelor of degree life, but it's a start for another phase of my life. When one door closed, another will be open. I can not see and predict what's waiting me beyond the door. But I'm sure it won't be easy. So to all my friends, always stay strong and you will able to go through each and every tough moment. While you need a friend, let me know. I will be there for you... ...

the rehearsal

Today is the rehearsal day for tomorrow convocation. I reach the hall at 8.45am and the practice session start on 9am. First, few UTAR administrative staffs are giving briefing on the stage. After that, we had a dry run on how to receive the scroll on stage. The rehearsal end on 11.30am, I leave the place.

package from a friend

In this early morning (7.30am), while I opened my house front door, I noticed a plastic bag hanging outside the carpark. At that moment, I was wondering who had hang a bag of rubbish outside my house (don't blame me!). After observed for a while, I saw a paper with my name clipping on the bag. It does suprise me (a lot)!! A plastic bag with my name hanging outside the house in the morning! Is this some kind of joke??
I immediately took down the bag and open it. Voila, guess what inside?! A letter and a convo bear =*o*= It is my inaugural convocation present, from my friend. Thanks K.W.! Thank you for the A4 size letter and the cute little brown bear which holding a red scroll with yellow ribbon. You had given me a pleasant surprise for this morning. I am so grateful on what had you done.

I never know you are such a creative guy. First, the way you choose to send this gift was shocking to me. Then, you had use the paper to make this tiny little scroll with a yellow color paper ribbon. After that, you stick the scroll to the bear and used the see-through wrapping plastic to wrap it. Your creativity did gave me a second suprise. Last but not least, the full page letter written by black ball pen. Nice hand writting =) I am so glad to have you as my friend. Once again, thank you for making an effort for this fellow.

mistake & Nepal

During my first week in the office, my Chinese boss had told me to apply an international passport. I had followed his order without asking the purpose for this action (clearly it is my mistake). Lately, my Burma boss told me that I will be sending to Nepal. At that moment, I just return a grin without saying a word. I am not sure my boss is just joking or serious. 走着瞧吧!

cozy Sunday morning

I woke up in the early of Sunday morning, felt aimless. After read through the newspaper, then turn on my PC. Checking email, checking email and checking email...what next? Turn on my winamp and listen to Jazzamor's album, "Lazy Sunday Afternoon".
After struggle for a week, I have a decision at last. So it's a relaxing and comfortable Sunday morning, but it's not a sunny morning. Seems going to rain very soon.
The music keeps playing... ...

to decide

There is something for me to think about it recently. I need to make a decision. I really don't have the clear idea on it and my mind totally went blank. I felt I can't trust my judgment on this situation. But I won't take it for granted and I will take fully responsible on my action. I know I can't blame anyone but myself.

No regret, no self pity.

in the office

My lunch hour had ended. But just want to do nothing because I'm having a headache. Maybe I still not used to stare at the computer monitor for such a long hour. It hurt my eyes... ...
Still need to look at the monitor if I want to finish my task. Life had been heavily depend on PC... ...

Malaya University Inaugural Convocation

It's Sunday afternoon at Malaya University, Sok Yee just went out from "Tunku Censolor" hall. The ceremony had ended before we reach there.

Bouquets and soft toys are all over her arms. But her face is sweating under the hot sun. Make up is "fading out"!!

She is so busy taking pictures with her friends and course mate. But her family members are sitting and waiting. Family support!!

We had nothing to do either. So we just pose some stupid act to entertain ourselves *_^

After half an hour, we left this crowded place.

So I will involve from technical support to dealing with client. It seems like a good chance for me to learn new skills in different aspect. 加油!加油!加油!

HK new boys band?!

Alive! Is a newly band form by four fully grown men. But if you still wanna think they are boy band, just ahead. Recently they had release their new "album" but you can't buy it on the market. If you wanna own this album, just download it for FREE on their website: http://www.alivenotdead.com/. Since their are not professional singer (their all are actor, model, etc), so please don't have any high expectation on their song. Like their said, "Just for fun!"

simple tunes

He is Jack Johnson. He is a surfer. He is a singer. He is a singer who surfs. His latest album "In Between Dreams" has become my recent favor for my CD player box. Each track in this album is SO SO SO "adorable". A manly deep voice accompany by few simple music instruments like guitar and piano. This makes all the songs irresistible.

Is hardly to categorize this album. It is neither a country folk music nor a pop style album. It is something close to our daily life (at least that's what in my mind). Those songs comfort me because it is so simple (in the sense of lyrics and melodies). That's my point of view, my judgement. What do you said?

10 ways to make yourself happy

  1. Don’t equate happiness with money. People adapt to income shifts relatively quickly, the long lasting benefits are essentially zero.
  2. Exercise regularly. Taking regular exercise generates further energy, and stimulates the mind and the body.
  3. Have sex (preferably with someone you love). Sex is consistently rated as amongst the highest generators of happiness. So what are you waiting for?
  4. Devote time and effort to close relationships. Close relationships require work and effort, but pay vast rewards in terms of happiness.
  5. Pause for reflection, meditate on the good things in life. Simple reflection on the good aspects of life helps prevent hedonic adaptation.
  6. Seek work that engages your skills, look to enjoy your job. It makes sense to do something you enjoy. This in turn is likely to allow you to flourish at your job, creating a pleasant feedback loop.
  7. Give your body the sleep it needs.
  8. Don’t pursue happiness for its own sake, enjoy the moment. Faulty perceptions of what makes you happy, may lead to the wrong pursuits. Additionally, activities may become a means to an end, rather than something to be enjoyed, defeating the purpose in the first place.
  9. Take control of your life, set yourself achievable goals.
  10. Remember to follow all the rules.

good & bad

My PC had stay in idle stage for almost two weeks due to the damage of motherboard. But life without Internet did not have much change to me. Just like usual, I had at least an interview for each weekday. So this keeps me busy. It's good to stay out of the computer screen for while, a chance to let my eyes have some rest. But disconnected from the world of Internet also make me frustrated because I am not able to use my email.
