what a 2nd round!

i did get second interview. But unfortunately things turn out to be so different then i expected. In second interview, i'd assign to a trainer to observe their daily work task. Guess what they do? They are selling muffins! Their target customers are school teacher, parents outside the school and shop lots. The product is a box of muffins worth RM9.90. Each box contains 4 muffins. Besides, we have 3 flavors which are blueberry, chocolate and pineapple.
After the training, i had a brief interview with the managing director and he told me i get the job. Wallah, should i be happy for that? i get paid in daily basic, depends on the number of muffins i sold. If i sell less than 30 boxes, i'll get RM2.40 commission for each box. When i sell more then 30 boxes, i have RM2.90 commission for a box. The trainer told me they usually sell more then 30 boxes each day. This job did not provide any employee beneifits...at all!
One last thing, this is a multi level marketing company! So i turn down this job offer.

round 1

fight: MANAGEMENT TRAINEE (Marketing & Business Operations)
time: 1530
venue: Jalan Tun Razak

The managing director asks me why I choose a job which not related to my studied field. I gave the answer but the answer is suck. I felt deeply disappointed on what I said. This is a screen interview, so it didn't take long. I went out after submit my resume and the whole interview session just took about 5 minutes.
Only short listed candidate will be notified within a week. Will my shit answer give me a second interview? All I have to do is just wait.

fear factor in Malaysia

You been watching the show for years but now you can really be part of it. Fear Factor is the show where each contestant will performs some crazy stunt to win the cash prize. Our local tv network NTV7 is giving us a chance to try out all these "low risk" yet high entertain activities and reward RM10,000 to the winner. Isn't that a good news!! But how much money will NTV7 spend to produce this show? According to Matt Kunitz (USA's Fear Factor producer), the show's budget has always remained in the $1 million-$1.2 million range for each hour episode. Therefore is interesting to watch a high budget show produce by Malaysian. Although we had Malaysian Idol and Who Wants to be Millionaire, but those shows can't compare with Fear Factor which contain extreme stunts. Yea, singing in high/low/wrong pitch or answer 15 "world class" tough questions isn't consider as an utmost actions.
Since we been shouting out the "Malaysia Boleh" slogan for so long until I can't recall when we started. Surely Malaysian will do whatever it takes to win those attractive cash prize and fame. Just check out Malaysia's "Guinness book of Record" and you will find something like Most Number of Cars Sold (by EON), Largest Service Centre (by EON), Fastest Mono Cable Car System (who else than Genting), Most Number of Roller Coasters in Malaysia (yup, is Genting again), Most Number of People to Squeeze into a Kancil (by the students of INTI College Subang Jaya) and lists keep going on and on. Goshhh, Malaysian is so obsess with creating a record.
So I'm sure there will be a lot of fearless citizen eager to participate in this reality show. How about you? Interesting? Just visit NTV7's fear factor website and download the entry form. But just want to warn you, it's a 15 pages form with different kinds of questions. The closing date for season 1 entries is on 7th July. Act quick!
Malaysians, get ready for the gross actions with blood, guts and creepy-crawly things!

Practice make Perfect

I have own the digital camera for some times. But I did not spend much time on this gadget until recently. How to capture a piece of art had been an issue for me. Of course I can use the preset configuration while taking picture and the outcome clearly can meet the standard requirement. But I'm a curiosity baby who likes to know how things work out. Besides, I wanna take control and produce a better picture. Like usual, things are difficult at the beginning. With a bunch of jargon to learn like aperture, shutterspeed, ISO etc. These maybe the basic things for a camera but seem to be the hardest part to master. I try to understand those features and figure out their differences. I may not have the in-depth knowledge, at least now I have an idea on those numbers. So I will keep practice until I can control the camera and not control by this lifeless friend.

828

Finally the date for my graduate convocation had been officially confirm. It's August 28th. The very first convocation for University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) is separate into three days which are 6th, 7th and 28th August at MCA building. Although my convo is on last day, but 828 is a great number. In chinese, it mean the money keep on coming...OK, I know I may sound superstitious here. But I wonder the university has the same thought like mine...hahaha
How will this graduate convocation look like? Since we are the pioneer batch graduated student. The university management officers promise this event will be huge and grand! Ummm, I think they hope this event will "polish" the university name. But I wonder how much money we need to pay in order to attend this convo.

first #1 for M.Schumacher

Micheal Schumacher had gained his first victory in 2005 season Grand Prix. But this United States Grand Prix only involved six drivers and three constructors which are Ferrari, Jordan and Minardi. Other seven constructors had pull themselves out from this race because of the tyres safety issues. Clearly most audiences are not satisfied by paying hundreds bucks just to watch six racing cars. They are booing, throwing bottle into race track and some even leaving the stadium. Who to blame? International Automobile Federation (FIA)? Michelin?
Now M.Schumacher has climb up to third place in driver chart while Ferrari is second in constructor chart. So the waiting ahead races will be more exciting and competitive!
See you in France, F1!!

Bat to Begin

The long waited batman movie is finally here. After a few bad or terrible batman movies, everyone hope this sequel (actually is prequel) will be better than previous.
For me, the most attractive point in this movie is those suporting actors. The list contains Liam Neeson (the trainer), Micheal Caine (the housekeeper), Gary Oldman (the police) and Morgan Freeman (the Wayne Corp employee). Each of them is a brilliant actor and has been nominated in Academy Award (except Gary Oldman, but he received Best Actor in British Academy of Film). I'm sure you will get some good entertainment from their performance, as a plus, some of them have few witty dialogue. In the end, you maybe forget the hero with dark grey suit and the female public attorney without bra. But those bright shinning supporting roles may stick in your mind for some time.

Brad + Angie = ( LoveFight )²

Brad Pitt! Angelina Jolie! Gunsplay! Bombs explosion! Romance & humour!
If you like one of those from above, then you should watch this film, Mr. & Mrs. Smith ("Tuan Smith dan Puan Smith" in malays).

Angie is hot! Brad is hot! The movie scene is hot! And the storyline is fine...not weak but not great either. Just fine
Hottest couples with funny verbal and non-verbal dialogue in this movie is something you can't miss. The part where both of them come clean to each other this thrilling, you may not laugh out loud...but I'm sure it's able to get you a smirk. The last gun shooting part is my favourite, cool choreographed stunt with great background music. Bravo!!
Besides all those exciting action and romance, do we need another Seth Cohen in this movie? Seth Cohen is a character play by Adam Brody in the U.S. hit drama series "The O.C." which had directly transplant into this movie. Although I found it annoying, but he just appear in few scenes (3 or 4...i guess) Last, I think Hollywood had done a great job once again for this summer. Mr. & Mrs. Smith should be adding to your must-see list for this year. Part 2 please?

the guts to try?!

I have no idea what on earth make me take this step...Last few days, I came across a recruitment ad on newspaper regarding Jr. Art Director vacancy from advertising agency. So i sent my CV to them without further thinking...gees, you must thought I'm crazy (because I'm just an ordinary IT student ;-) On second day, I get a phone call from this company which informs me to attend an interview on next day. While on the phone, I told this lady that I have no experience on art design at all and also told her I did not own any portfolio. Since she is a nice lady (i think she is...), she still set an interview appointment for me.
On the judgment day...ehhh, is interview day actually. I went to this advertising agency around 4pm, and fill up the form (like usual). After waiting for a while, a lady came in and she look at the form. The first impression she gave me was a face with 100% surprise! She asks me why i apply for Jr. Art Director since I had no experience whereby this position require to guide people through out the project. So I gave some explanation...blah, blah, blah. Later on, she said i should apply for graphic design (as a entry level job position) and ask for my portfolio. Then I tell her the cruelest truth..."I don't have any portfolio" WahLah, another surprise face...geees, I hope her heart still in good condition. Yet is time for another explanation...blah, blah, blah. Bingo, explanation accepted. So she want me to create or build or draw or make or whatsoever (pick either one because I didn't remember what she really said) something with the given so-called title at home and then email the finish work to her. So she will figure out my capabilities base on my work. Last, she told me that my salary will be around RM1300 - RM1500 (if i get hire).
After all these conversation, we shook hands and I leave this company...with a smile, a big smile. I think I'm out of my mind!

compulsive hoarding

"Compulsive hoarding" is a new term to me...and I learnt it from Oprah show. Yup, you will get some new and useful information while watching this show...Okay, maybe just me. You never know that your friends or family may be a hoarder. They will kept this secret behaviour very well. But once you find out anyone who have this problem...seek for professional HELP!
Here are some common characteristics within compulsive hoarding:

  • Saving or collecting continues beyond what is needed or of use
  • Avoiding throwing possessions away, or experience high levels of anxiety when discarding items.
  • Having significant clutter at home, often to the point where pathways need to be made to walk around.
  • Functional spaces are lost due to clutter. For example, can not sit on chairs or use tabletops because possessions occupy those areas. Socializing is curtailed or eliminated.
  • Value of uniqueness is attached to items that others do not find valuable, such as papers, containers and food items.
  • Strong emotional connections are formed to the extent that and individual feels a sense of safety or comfort.
  • Feeling suspicious of other people touching possessions (or throwing them away).
  • Feeling overwhelmed and/or embarrassed by possessions.
  • Others perceive belongings as bothersome and/or dangerous.

Hmm...I did have some of the features, like keeping a lot of old stuff in organize ;-p and always think I'll be using it someday in future. Since I had some kind of "connection" with all those things, so it's hard to throw them away :'(
So, do you have those "lovely" characteristic?

D mania

First the manga, then tv anime series, later the anime movie and now the real live action movie...
For those who have no idea what the "D" mean, it actually meant "Drifting" whereby is the art of controlling a car while it's going sideways. Here is the drifting 101:
  1. Race Drift
This is performed at race speeds, when entering a high speed corner a driver lifts his foot off the throttle to induce a mild over steer and then balances the drift through steering and throttle motions. (note: the car that is being used for this style of drift should be a neutral balanced car therefore the over steer will induce itself, if the car plows through any turn this technique will not work).
  2. Braking Drift
This is performed by trail braking into a corner, then loss of grip is obtained and then balance through steering and throttle motions. (note: this is mainly for medium to low speed corners).
  3. Faint Drift
This is performed by rocking the car towards the outside of a turn and then using the rebound of grip to throw the car into the normal cornering direction. (note this is heavy rally racing technique used to change vehicle attitudes during cornering, mainly tight mountain corners).
  4. Clutch Kick
This is performed by depressing the clutch pedal on approach or during a mild drift to give a sudden jolt through the driveline to upset rear traction.
  5. Shift Lock
This is performed by letting the revs drop on downshift into a corner and then releasing the clutch to put stress on the driveline to slow the rear tires inducing over steer. (this is like pulling the E-brake through a turn - note this should be performed in the wet to minimize damage to the driveline etc.)
  6. Emergency Brake Drift
This technique is very basic, pull the E-Brake or (side brake) to induce rear traction loss and balance drift through steering and throttle play. (note: this can also be used to correct errors or fine tune drift angles).
  7. Dirt Drop Drift
This is performed by dropping the rear tires off the road into the dirt to maintain or gain drift angle without losing power or speed and to set up for the next turn. (note this technique is very useful for low horsepower cars).
  8. Jump Drift
In this technique the rear tire on the inside of a turn or apex is bounced over a curb to lose traction resulting in over steer.
  9. Long Slide Drift
This is done by pulling the E-brake through a strait to start a high angel drift and to hold this to set up for the turn ahead. (note: this can only be done at high speed).
  10. Swaying Drift
This is a slow side-to-side faint like drift where the rear end sways back and forth down a strait.
  11. FF Drift (Front Wheel Drive Drift)
The E-brake as well as steering and braking techniques must be used to balance the car through a corner. (note: the E-brake is the main technique used to balance the drift).
  12. Power Over
This performed when entering a corner and using full throttle to produce heavy oversteer (tail slide) through the turn. (note: needs horsepower to make this happen).

Although the movie will release on this June, but the story for manga and anime isn't end yet. In 2005, the anime had enter to fourth stage where the plot is more exciting and funny ;p Can't wait the release for next volumn!

So I think the movie will be great, not because of Jay Chou nor Edison Chen (sorry...just not really like those actors). I probably will focus on the car racing, although I'm not an expert in car race or car types or car engine ^_^
Have you seen the movie trailer yet? Check out the official Initial D movie website. This site features a lot of cool stuff too!

feeling bad?

When I hear somebody sigh, ‘Life is hard,I am always tempted to ask, ‘Compared to what?'

Sydney J. Harris

1/2

Is 1st of June, we are in the middle of 2005. Almost half of the year had passed...
Do you ever slow down your footsteps and give a thought on what had you done all these months?

Feeling ups and downs all these times, good...that's mean you are normal! A life with only happy and smile is so boring. So why don't add some "extra" flavour to increase the excitement for your living days. Some sadness and frustration will do a pretty good job. But don't let all these "extra" flavour hold you back, let them be your motivation factor. Let them push you forward and make your thought more mature...ehh, it actually mean you are much older now, LOL.
May all my family and friends have enjoy every single minute of their life.
